Starting School in Reception in September 2026

The deadline for submitting an application for Reception in September 2026 has now passed.

 

If you need to make a late application you will need to complete a late application form with West Sussex County Council.

 

Confirmation of Reception places for September 2026

If you have applied for a reception place you will be notified of your school on Thursday 16th April 2026 by email. If your application was late it will not be processed until after Friday 15th May 2026.

Appeals

Parents or carers of children not offered a place have a right to appeal against the decision. Appellants will have 20 school days from the date of notification that their application was unsuccessful to prepare and lodge their written appeal. Appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals and appellants will receive at least 10 school days’ notice of their appeal hearing.
