An opportunity has arisen to join our busy premises team at Warden Park Primary Academy in Haywards Heath as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work to ensure that both their designated duties and areas to be cleaned are carried out to a high standard. This post will make a vital contribution to the wellbeing of students and staff by providing them with clean and hygienic surroundings that inspire good teaching and learning.

This is a part time, term time only for 17½ hours per week Monday to Friday, 2.45pm-6.30pm including a 15 minute unpaid break.  The salary scale for this post is SLT Grade 1/2 Point 10 and the hourly rate is currently £8.23 per hour.   The successful candidate will be required to work for 43.4 weeks per year (and be entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday) as follows:

Term time       =   38 weeks

Inset Days       =    1 week

Holiday work  =    4.4 weeks (22 days) worked during official school holidays

Required as soon as possible.  Hours of work: 8 hours per week, term time only (Tuesday 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m; Thursday 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. (with one hour lunchbreak).

Pay scale: SLT Grade 3 £15,997 - £17,625 fte (£2,873.46 - £3,165.90 actual pro rata salary).  This post is fixed term until July 2020.


We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, enthusiastic and motivated School Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team. The School Administrator will have a flexible attitude towards work and recognition of the confidentiality of the role is key. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and visitors to the school is also necessary.


The ideal candidate must be well organised, with the ability to work using their own initiative and as an effective team member reporting to the Headteacher and Office Manager. This person will demonstrate a calm, positive attitude with the ability to multitask within an extremely busy school office environment.

Previous school experience would be preferred but all applications considered.


The post responsibilities will include:


  • Meeting and greeting visitors to the school, 'front of house', 'signing in' visitors;
  • Dealing with a variety of enquiries face to face, over the telephone and via email;
  • Undertaking typing, word processing and other ICT based tasks;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of school records via Arbor and producing reports and returns as required;
  • Supporting the recording of Pupil Attendance via Arbor;
  • Managing educational visits, internal and external, liaising with teaching staff, arranging transport bookings and updating financial payment records; updating Office Manager and Office Administrator accordingly;
  • Other duties commensurate with the post;

Warden Park Secondary Academy has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to work with a range of learners who have a learning/additional support need and require a reader/scribe during examinations and to support assessment work. Full training to provide this support to their learners will be provided.

Volunteers should have a good academic ability, preferably with previous experience working with young people or within education, and appreciate the importance of confidentiality.
