Week 3: 30th April

We have been doing lots of different activities with Naughty Bus. We have been building assault courses and using positional language to tell someone where to go, we have been building a Naughty Bus journey, we did some moving smudge art, played a counting and adding bus game and explored Miss Phillips' car!

Week 1 and 2

We had a busy start to this term. We walked to the library. The librarians showed us round and read us some stories. They gave us a special parcel and inside were our Story Scientist badges - we have to wear them when we are doing our work at school.

We have been finding out about different countries. So far we have learnt about France and India.

Our sponsored bike ride was amazing and you helped us raise an amazing £1500! Thank you very much

Aspirations Day

The children had to choose which job they would like to explore.  We had architects, gardeners, artists, vets, musicians, doctors, police, chef and scientist. They could try out 4 different jobs.

Week 4 - 29th Jan

The Evil Pea and Supertato have left us more challenges this week. We are Super Readers!  We have been word building, reading red and green words and writing words. Buffalo class has become a supermarket and one of our challenges was to go shopping and use money to buy food. On Friday we had Number day. We played number games with year 3, had to guess how many sweets were in the jar, measure Supertato and the Evil Pea and solve number problems. Thank you for helping us come dressed in number clothes.

Week 3 - 22nd Jan

This week we have been doing lots of drawing. We have been doing observational drawing of fruit and vegetables. We also did some collaborative drawing, that meant we all worked together doing a group drawing.

Week 2 - 15th January

This week we have been exploring fruit and vegetables. We had to be scientists and feel, describe and taste different vegetables. We did some group writing to explain what we did. Outside we had different tools to cut up and explore vegetables. We have been retelling the story of Supertato and drawing fruit.

 

Week 1 - 8th Jan

We are reading the book Supertato! The Evil Pea had escaped so we had to go for a hunt round the school and write down when we found him! We have been making shape patterns using potato prints and straws. Outside we had different fruit and vegetables to cut up and explore.

Week 12 - 27th November

This week we have been doing lots of challenges. We had to make igloos. polar bears and explore ice bowls. Our maths target challenge was to match numbers and amounts, write numbers and add 2 numbers together. Our phonics target challenge was to find letters, read words and write words using the sounds we know.

We have started to practice our nativity on Friday. We are looking forward to you watching it on Friday 8th at 9:30 then making decorations with us afterwards.

Week 11 - 20th November

This week we have been ordering and writing numbers. Matching letters and building words and exploring ice. We have also started to make igloos!

Thursday 23rd - Our sound today was 'c'. It is a short bouncy sound, you do not use your voice to make the sound.

Tuesday 21st - Our sound today was 'o'. It is a short bouncy sound, you use your voice to make the sound.

Week 10 - 12th November

We have been doing lots of maths challenges this week. We have been ordering numbers and counting amounts. We used our counting to play 'Snakes and Ladders'. We have also been letter detectives and finding our new sounds in the classroom.

Tuesday 14th - Our sound today was 'g'. It is a short bouncy sound, you use your voice to make the sound.

Monday 13th - Our sound today was 'p'. It is a short bouncy sound, you do not use your voice to make the sound.

Week 9 - 6th November

We have been doing lots of maths and phonics learning this week. In maths we have been counting wrapping paper, going on a number hunt, counting numicon and matching it to the right number.

In phonics we have been letter detectives, sorting objects to match their sound and practicing our letter formation.

We have also had a fascination trap in the classroom. We have used screwdrivers to take apart a computer monitor and see what was inside. We have also been exploring with magnets. We have had another busy week!

Thursday 9th - Our sound today was 'n'. It is a long stretchy sound and the sound comes out of your nose.

Wednesday 8th - Our sound today was 'i'. It is a short bouncy sound, you use your voice to make the sound.

Monday 6th - Our sound today was 't'. It is a short bouncy sound, you do not use your voice to make the sound.

Week 8 - 30th October

We met our last learning friend this week. His name was Craig and he helps us be curious and ask lots of questions. We have been curious about numbers and have had to find different numbers around our classrooms. We also have a 'fascination trap' in our classroom. We have to take apart something and find out what is inside!

Week 6 - 9th October

We have had a lovely last week of term. We are looking forward to a week at home and a rest!

Monday 16th - Our sound today was 'm'. It is a long stretchy sound, you use your voice to make the sound.

Week 6 - 9th October

This week we met our learning friend Ted. He helps us be resilient and not give up. We have been trying new things in the classroom like using the paint station, building BIG models and exploring shapes and dens.

Week 5 - 2nd October

This week we we met our learning friend Turbo. He helps us be in a growth mindset, try new things and he says "don't say no have a go!" We have been baking cakes this week, exploring outside and being creative like Una the unicorn.

Week 4 - 25th September

This week we had a visit from the RSPB. We went out on a bug hunt!

We have also been busy working outside organising and changing our outdoor learning space. 

Week 3 - 18th September

This week we met Bob the Bee and worked as a team.

Week 2 - 11th September

This week we met Sam the Spider. He helps us be independent and try things by ourselves.
